Second Annual Fifth-Grade Multiplication Bee:
Hannah Yonts won First Place Winner: Congratulations to Hannah Yonts for representing our class in the Fifth-Grade Multiplication Bee and taking first place! Our class now has the honor of holding the roving trophy for this year! Thank you Hannah for your hard work and for representing our class so well!
Classwork/Homework:
Reading: Read for your BOOK IT! reading goal. This is our last month for the BOOK IT! program and our goal is still just 10 minutes each day or a total of 300 minutes for the month. Remember reading can take you places so read if you're bored and you want to experience new adventures and travel around the world! :)
Math: Geometry Solid Shapes Graphic Organizer and Comparison *Multiplication Speed Tests - Correct and Complete and then write facts from test 10 times each as assigned.

On-Demand Writing: The final draft On-Demand Writing Prompt Responses are always due on Tuesday mornings. Please make sure you have completed this writing task and have your brainstorm sheet, rough drafts pages (green, yellow, and red) along with the final copy ready for Mr. Austin on or before Tuesday mornings. I'm seeing your writing improve with each piece you do! Way to go, students!
Open-Response Questions: Open-Response questions are to be completed and ready for Mrs. Galyen, our Open Response Coach, on or before Wednesday mornings, typically. Please make sure this task is completed and you have included all the details to score a 4! We will begin working on multiple choice questions this coming week so get ready to use the CREST method and your reading detective bookmarks!!

BOOK IT!: The monthly goal for fifth grade students is 300 minutes, or approximately 10 minutes each day. This is a very small amount of time but could make a big difference in your reading ability!
Important Notes:
March Attendance Campaign: This months attendance theme is "We are Marching to the TOP" with perfect attendance. Students will participate in a balloon lift-off at the end of the month. Students will be given balloons to release based on good attendance and behavior.
